Molinos Nacionales C.A. has dedicated part of its business to developing wheat flour-based ready-mixes. This idea has been internationally welcomed and has allowed us to become an avant-garde supplier of greater quality products, allowing our clients to save time and money. However, this is the moment to take one more step.
For us, the future of flour consists of adding new products, items that offer greater nutritional value towards better population health. For this, we are currently working on various initiatives:
- To produce flours based on non-wheat cereal, increasing the amount of vitamins and proteins, or helping improve digestion and cardiovascular health. Some examples are rye, oats, barley, quinoa, chia and amaranth.
- To increase the daily intake of fibre, by adding psyllium (for example). To offer gluten-free flours, based on other cereals such as corn, rice, lentils, yucca, potatoes and bananas, making them more affordable for those in need.
- To manufacture products with less chemical components, by replacing emulsifiers, oxidising and reducing agents, with the use of enzyme-based biotechnology. Preservative agents may also be replaced, such as calcium propionate, with natural products like vinegar.
In a constantly evolving technological world, with greater food awareness, our approach is to offer more nutritional flours and mixtures, with less chemical components, diversifying our product portfolio to cover any specific needs of the population.
